AA Central Office – Monterey Bay Area
Supporting Our Local A.A. Community
The purpose of our Central Office is to provide the infrastructure and resources so the fellowship can carry out its 12-Step work.
Central office is directly accountable to the Monterey Bay Area Intergroup of Alcoholics Anonymous (MBAIAA), the Group Conscience of the A.A. fellowship throughout the Monterey Bay Area.

Volunteer at Central Office
Make a Difference in the A.A. Community
Central Office Volunteers are an essential part of Alcoholics Anonymous. They often provide the first point of contact for callers and visitors—representing both the Monterey Bay Area Intergroup and A.A. as a whole.
Volunteers commit to one 4-hour shift per week at our front desk. Responsibilities include:
- Answering phone calls
- Assisting with A.A. literature sales
- Greeting and guiding visitors
All volunteers receive training on phone etiquette and office procedures. A basic understanding of A.A.’s Traditions and availability during weekday mornings or afternoons is preferred. If you’re only available for a shorter shift, we may still be able to accommodate you.
